Feeling Quoty: Thoughts on Success

Success is falling nine times and getting up ten.

I think my favorite out of this bunch is the first. Too many people let failures get them down. Just because they tried something that failed, they think they ARE a failure. But even very, very successful people have had failures in their lives. They just kept getting up instead of allowing their failure to bring them down!

“If at first you don’t succeed, give up and get a job!”

Well that’s not exactly how the phrase goes but that’s how many people seem to
interpret it. Whatever happened to try and try again? Maybe the entire phrase
should be changed to, “try once then write it off as a lost.” In today’s society,
failure is an option that’s accepted with very little disappointment. Motivation to
retry failed attempts have been replaced with, “oh well, at least I tried.” One of
the reasons credited for this acceptance is the fact that throughout your lifetime,
you’ve attempted many goals that didn’t end in success. You’ve dealt with failed
relationships, job interviews, advancement opportunities and personal let downs
that didn’t go your way. Regardless of it’s level, the amount of failure you’ve
experienced has made it a normal occurrence in your life. You’ve not only
learned to expect it and accept it, you’ve become accustomed to living with it.
Unfortunately this doesn’t serve as a motivational tool when we’re trying new
things, especially when there’s a high risk involved. Success is not a random
lottery ticket where you sit back and hope that your numbers are picked. Success
is a well-planned step taken with confidence by those who are determined to
reach their desired destination. As well planned as this may be, issues and
failures that you are unable to plan for will occur. When these issues arise, the
next step is not to throw in the towel but pick up the pieces and continue going
after success.
A good plan makes a great success story. Victories are seldom achieved by
random luck. Victory requires a desire and commitment along with strategic
planning, preparation and confidence. All of these traits are found inside *You.*
*You* have the desire and willingness to reach success. Failure and negativity
don’t dwell within you. You not only see your goal, but you dream about it in 3D!
You are well prepared and ready to win every battle in order to achieve success.
But you have an ongoing, never ending battle that you must face in order to
achieve success. Each day before focusing on your goals, you must prepare
yourself mentally to win the battle of dominance between *You* and
*Yourself*.
